The League of Prosecutors consists of current and former Florida prosecutors dedicated to educating the public about critical issues in the justice system and promoting excellence in the judiciary.
About The LOP
In its first decade of service, the LOP has developed and instituted mentoring programs for young attorneys and prosecutors; educated the public about local judicial candidates through its judicial endorsement forum; assisted the judiciary in civil contempt hearings; hosted CLE forums on a monthly basis through the Lunch and Learn Program in the criminal courthouse; and closely monitored issues that affect our legal profession and the judiciary in South Florida and across the country. In addition, each year the LOP hosts the Justice Award Dinner. This signature event has become a cornerstone of the LOP’s founding vision of bringing recognition to the dedicated judges and public servants who work tirelessly for our community. The League does this by recognizing a local judge and prosecutor who embody the qualities that we look for in our public servants. Past recipients of the Justice Award include Chief Judge Bertila Soto, Judge Robert Luck, Judge Rodolfo Sorondo, Judge Marc Schumacher, Judge Leslie Rothenberg, Judge Jerald Bagley, Judge Peter Lopez, Judge Stanford Blake, Judge Scott Silverman, and Judge Darrin Gayles.
